Ride Description:

The Mt. Pinos Ride. Great for a quick cool trip for lunch. You can either eat at Pine Mountain or take an extra 20 minutes and head over to Fraisier park.

If you are heading back to Bakersfield in a hurry you can always take I5 back, but the ride back through Pine Mountain is worth the ride back through it again.

There is a gas station at Pine Mountain if you need to stop, but I recommend filling up in Taft on your way up.

FEATURES: While the trip from Bakersfield to Taft is boring enough, once you break away from 33 you are greeted with all kinds of Curves. Watch for cagers as they have a tendency to pick which ever lane they feel will get them through the turn the quickest.

Pine Mountain air is beautifully clean and averages about 20 degrees cooler than Bakersfield making this an ideal trip for just about any weather.

Recommended food stops is Mike's Pizza in Fraisier Park. Great stuff. Make it a lunch run with some buddies.
