Ride Description:
Exiting I15 south from Las Vegas ... recommended to take Las Vegas Blvd along the 15 as far as Jean. Hardly if any cars, better scenery, and nice 2 lane road. Once your on the 15 you pass through Primm which has a few Casinos and an outlet mall ... good rest stop for those coming from the other direction. On the top of the incline before the freeway breaks west exit 164 / Nipton.
Very light traffic. Road conditions are poor in parts. Watch for rough patchwork and gravel that may be washed out in the road on the part of this road that is west of Nipton. Nipton is a popular mid way / stopping point along this route and there is a resteraunt here that claims to have famous hamburgers. Exiting Nipton east you travel over a mountain pass into a large Joshua Tree Forest with great scenery. 164 ends up in Searchlight where there are more places to get gas and a casino w/ a diner. 95 North is good roadway w/ light traffic back into Henderson.
Overall nice scenery and light traffic with a few good stopping points. The ride itself is relativly straight and uneventful ... good route to break in some new equipment or for a new rider.
