This is a route with two smaller loops within the route. It includes side roads that are well maintained and freshly black topped, lightly used / traveled roads. Hwy 94 can be heavy on weekends. There are several wineries along this route with free tasting. It covers the land and area of Daniel Boone and his later family members, there is historic interest. One of the most scenic vistas in the Eastern US exist along Duke Rd.

Fall foliage and the ride on Duke Rd in the fall is one of the most spectacular there is anywhere and I am a former long time Tour Bus driver who has been virtually everywhere. I ride this regularly never tiring of it, seldom traveled by anyone with excellent roads. Leaves fall like golden rain in the fall. A tremendous day trip for the St. Louis region. There's entertainment and great food at most Wineries on weekends. Bring your camera, the views and subjects have won me awards and I have had work published because of this area as a result.

I recommend trying Norton wines, sometimes called Cynthiana - these are derived from natural occurring grapes, a dry red table wine that rates with anything in the world - The true native North American grape makes tasting a selection worth the trip.
