Ride Description:

A nice day ride from Wichita, KS., this route will loop you around the Lake, take the routes to the Dam/Spillway on either side or both sides of the Salt Fork River. Continue south around the lake and West of Jet, OK. there is a turn off to the Salt Flats, (NOT good for motorcycles the last time I went it was very deep sand roads, if you do go to the flats take a large kick stand coaster if you want to park the bike and walk around. In Cherokee there are two places to eat usually open all week. When leaveing Cherokee head north 3 miles and take HWY 11 east to retrace your route home, Look for the Historical markers, AND about 1 mile before the Salt Plains Lake turn off you took earlier, there is an Artisian Well on the south side of the highway, nice blacktop parking and shade trees around the well area, cold sweet water, don't miss it.
