Very nice 1 to 2 day trip around northern New Mexico.

Lots of beautiful desert and mountain scenery on this trip. Passes through and by many Historic and State Parks.

Taos makes for a great overnight or stopping point on this route. About 285 miles in if you are traveling from the east (through Springer). Lots of recreation and events ... see links below.

Taos was also the town that some of the desert scenes of Easy Rider were filed at and based on, so if you are passing by you kind of have to stop there.
