Ride Description:
Exit Bend east on Alfalfa Market Rd through Alfalfa continuing on Willard to Reservoir road, then to Hwy 27 (go left / north). Continue over Bowman Dam up hwy 27 towards Prineville. The canyon is stunning and the ride over the dam is great. The twisties along this part of the route are outstanding.
Stop at the Tastee Treat in Prineville for ice cream or a milk shake. Then go from Prineville over the bridge like you would go up the grade but turn onto O'Niel Hwy and follow along Crooked River toward Terrebonne. You can head to Smith Rocks that way, or just go on into Terrebonne then head South on the 97 back to Bend. This is a good 2 to 3 hour ride, excellent ride on a warm afternoon.
