From ca route 74 this trail rises to over 8000 ft elevation. washouts, boulders and soft sand make this a challenging and rewarding trip. I did this route on a stock honda 250 nighthawk with street tires in 07. To make the summit of toro peak, skirt first gate if closed, park at second gate if opened as trail is very dangerous at the top. after first gate you are trespassing on reservation land so please dont disturb or deface anything. the top is worth the risk of getting caught as the view is 360 fantastic. The campground at mile 8 has a running spring pipe, drink at own risk. I didn't get sick.
