Ride Description:
This route connects hwy 26 to hwy 7. Not much in terms of amenities between Unity and Baker City, a few miles north on Hwy 7.
The first section of 245 / Dooley Mtn Hwy heads east from Unity through a valley and farmland. Passing the Unity reservoir you will ride through some nice canyons exiting to a scenic route along the Burnt River.
When 245 turns north along Mill Creed the road becomes a bit more challenging. Expect a 2000' ascent over Dooley Summit with tight corners and switch backs. While the roads are in good condition watch for gravel along the shoulder. You will pass through Stices Gultch as you drop back down into Salisbury.
