This is a fantastic day trip! See the seldom-visited Big Hill Pond State Park. Cross the Dismal Swamp to see the Mountain Top! Leave from there and head to Shiloh. See one of the most serene battlefields. Take the self-guided tour of the bloody battle. Pack a lunch and picnic while you're out at the park.
