Ride Description:

Alternative Valley of Fire route that goes through Overton around the north side of the Valley of Fire state park.

Exit Las Vegas north on hwy 15 which is straight desert hwy for about 40 miles. Turn off on N Moapa Valley Rd / hwy 169 heading SE to Overton. Take the hwy 167 / Northshore Dr south which goes around the west side of Lake Mead and eventually back into Las Vegas. Watch for rough road surfaces on the first part of hwy 167 - this eventually smooths up as they are repaving this hwy (2007). On this route you will come in behind Lake Las Vegas and drop into Henderson.

See map for options of entering Las Vegas on Lake Mead or continuing to Hoover Dam.The North entrace doesn't have a toll booth for the park. Honor system for park fees may be in effect and Rangers to activly patrol this route.
