I did this and Highway 1, while doing the rest of 61, in the summer of 2008. As you reach the northern end of this ride you see the effects of the 2007 fire. They are both stark and beautiful. Seeing the way the forest is already rejuvenating is reassuring. There is a small restaurant at the very end of the road. As I made this map I noticed there are quite a few extra credit loops along the way. Perhaps I'll have to go check them out. I'll only mark the paved roads until I can figure out a way to mark gravel roads as I know some folks don't like them.
