Ride Description:

This is a easy summertime ride with lake, river and forest scenery, the first part is filled with twistys but after Harrison it turns into sweeping country roads making this a very pleasurable ride you can do in 4-6 hours.

Starting from Coeur d'Alene Idaho head east on the 90 Fwy over 4th of july pass approx 20-25 miles to the Harrison exit which is also marked Hwy 97, you will be heading south on hwy 97 which takes you along the edge of scenic Lake Coeur d Alene, I must note that hwy 97 is a very twisty 2 lane road so use care while sight seeing, follow hwy 97 to the historic town of Harrison, **NOTE.... (Speed drops from 50 down to 25 coming into Harrison and there is a cop who like's to wait for speeders), this old town is located on the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene and often has vintage car shows and bands in the park, there is a neat old muesum and a bunch of little shops if you decide to bring your lady, there is also a fun tavern at the bottom of the sloped street just past the park on right side, which I believe is Pine st, but stay away from the drink that comes in a bucket as it sneaks up on you, don't ask how I know! :).

Head back south on hwy 97 and when you come to the Y merge right onto hwy 3 and keep and eye out for the sign that says Marysville, head into Marysville which is a historic logging town, when you come into Marysville cross the river and make a right on college then an immediate right onto 4th (There is a Store/Gas station on the corner) follow 4th around and it becomes Main Street also known as Hwy 5 follow this Hwy up to the Park on the right that has mining, logging and history on the great fire that decimated the whole area, or keep going on hwy 5 until you meet up with hwy 95 in Plummer (Approx 25-30 miles) and take a right, Hwy 95 is a faster moving hwy with speed limits from 50 to 65mph, but, watch the small towns as speed limit is 35mph, 95 is a mostly straight hwy that travels thru a few small towns and passes by the Coeur d'Alene Casino which is a great spot to take a break, use the bathroom and have a little fun, if you miss the first entrance you can turn in at the gas station and swing back around to the casino, after some fun you can then head north on hwy 95 approx 35 miles until you end up back in coeur d'Alene.

This is a very scenic and beautiful ride, the road ranges from very twisty to back road cruising to hwy 95 which is faster paced with more traffic. Take advantage of the before mentioned towns as they are the best and only places to take a break on this ride and get something to drink and explore the culture.

Good riding,
Sonny
