Ride Description:

Take State Route 94 east from San Diego to I-8. Year round ride through canyons with 50+ miles of turns on good pavement. Curves do subside slightly after Campo but scenery is good the whole trip. Lots of places to stop along the way including Tecate, Mexico just about 2 miles south on the 188, just remember to bring a passport as they are now required for re-entry.

Lanes can be narrow in certain spots so watch out for cyclists as well as trucks using this road to get in / out of Mexico. Otherwise traffic is usually low and the weather is consistently warm.

Riders using this route to loop back by way of Sweeney Pass should remember to gas up in Ocotillo.
