Ride Description:

This is probably the best route to go through Death Valley out of Las Vegas as it will take you through the largest portion of the valley itself.

Exit Las Vegas west towards Pahrump on hwy 160. Turn left (west) on hwy 372 which turns into hwy 178 towards Shoshone and stay on 178 (note parallel route on hwy 127 ... see map) to Ashford Junction. Proceed north through valley on Badwater road which will eventually merge with Death Valley scenic byway / hwy 190. If you stay on hwy 190 about 7 miles past the Daylight Pass Road (rtn route back to Beatty) you will end up in Stovepipe Wells just past some large sand dunes. There is gas, gift shops, and (good) food here. Return to Las Vegas through Beatty then south on the 95.

Recommended to check the weather if making this ride in the spring or fall. It gets warm. Also watch gas stops as stations have a tendancy to be infrequent once in the valley.
