Ride Description:

Nice ride that takes you through the mountains and canyons just west of the Topanga State park. Drastic change of scenery in just a few short miles with lots of tight curves along the way.

Go to Santa Monica and take the pacific coast hwy / hwy 1 north. Just past Castellammare at the stop light take the Topanga Hwy north along the west side of the Topanga State park until you reach Mulholland Dr on the left. Follow a few miles to the Old Tapanga Canyon Rd going south which loops back down to the 27 and back to the PCH.

Traffic is low but lots of cyclists to watch out for. Roads get narrow in a few spots and there are no guardrails along some of the higher elevation curves so be careful. Also lots of side roads in the canyon to explore.
