Ride Description:
Nice ride up to the North Lake Tahoe / Incline Village area. Good valley and lake views while traveling up over Mt Rose ... the highest elevation pass open year round.
Exit Reno south on 395 S. or S. Virginia St 6 miles to hwy 431 / St Rose Highway. Ascend up Mt Rose 20 miles and descend into the Incline Village side of Lake Tahoe. Head west on hwy 28 to North Lake Tahoe for the best selection of restaurants, etc. Return by heading back easy on hwy 28 to the hwy 50 exit descending into Carson City. Left on 395 heading North through Carson City then Washoe Valley back to Reno.
Roadways are good and plenty of places to stop and eat in Incline Village or Carson City (much better scenery at Lake Tahoe). Watch for sand on the high elevation parts of the ride during the spring.
